The 33-year-old Cubano, who recently starred as Manny opposite Zulay Henao in Tyler Perry's The Single Moms Club, is ready for his latest role as Quentin Matthews in the new film Addicted.
Based on the best-selling erotic novel by Zane, Addicted follows successful businesswoman Zoe Reynard (played by Sharon Leal) who appears to have attained it all – the dream husband she loves (played by Boris Kodjoe), two wonderful children and a flourishing career.
As perfect as everything appears from the outside, Zoe is still drawn to temptations (one of them being Quentin) she cannot escape or resist. As she pursues a secretive life, Zoe finds herself risking it all when she heads down a perilous path she may not survive.
The film also stars Tyson Beckford and The Vampire Diaries' Kat Graham, and is set to hit theaters October 10, 2014.

Boris Frederic Cecil Tay-Natey Ofuatey-Kodjoe (/ˈkoʊdʒʊ/; born 8 March 1973), better known as Boris Kodjoe, is a German actor known for his roles as Jason in the 2000 film Love & Basketball, and the sports-courier agent Damon Carter on the Showtime drama series Soul Food.
Kodjoe married his Soul Food: The Series co-star Nicole Ari Parker on May 21, 2005 in Gundelfingen, Germany. She gave birth to their first child, a girl, Sophie Tei-Naaki Lee Kodjoe, on March 5, 2005. Sophie has spina bifida, which was diagnosed at birth. Parker gave birth to the couple's second child, a boy, Nicolas Neruda Kodjoe, on October 31, 2006. Kodjoe and his wife are members of Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.The family resides in Los Angeles, California.

Centric’s “BEING” star has been pretty open about his marriage, what works and what he expects. The couple have no qualms divulging on the ups and downs of their relationship. And of course there’s the ever-cute moments they share about how the love affair all began. As we countdown to Kodjoe telling his story on “BEING,” here are seven things we know about his and Parker’s relationship. Shout out to their openness!
A nine-month break
When the pair first started working on “Soul Food,” they were both in relationships. Once those relationships ended the two got together, fell in love and broke up for nine months to individually do therapy (although Kodjoe’s therapy was more like getting all the women out of his system). “We took a step back,” Kodjoe said. “Because we both came with baggage. We realized we both developed patterns that could potentially mess up an amazing thing.”
Nicole Ari Parker would yell until Boris shut it down
NAP’s parents argued all the time so seeing that had an affect on her. She would raise her voice at Kodjoe until he set the boundary that he was not going to allow her to talk to him in that way. “He set up his own boundary and was like, ‘You’re not going to talk like that and then walk out of the house, grab your keys, your purse, your ride, boom. You’re not going to do all that.’ And that immediately changed the dynamic in our relationship,” Parker said.
Boris Kodjoe had to learn to let Nicole Ari Parker just vent
Like a lot of men, Kodjoe was used to going in to problem-solving mode. When he first started dating NAP he says he couldn’t listen to her vent without wanting to go out and “fight everybody” and solve the problem. “All she really wanted was to vent and I had to learn how to take that in without taking action or criticizing her perspective.”
The Kodjoes believe staying sexy is muy importante
Kodjoe has caught flak for what critics have called his superficial ideas about a marriage working when both people stay sexy. He’s gone as far as saying weight gain in a marriage is unacceptable. But Nicole Ari Parker agrees that small things like changing out of gym clothes before he sees her and staying fit is important. On BET’s “Couple’s Revealed,” she said part of the marriage contract is remembering you took your partner off the market so it’s imperative to make it worth their while. “It’s not about pleasing him, it’s remembering to please yourself and being your happiest self and your most beautiful self.”
Boris wants his home cooked meal
In about three different interviews Boris or Nicole referenced the importance of good food in a marriage. So apparently NAP knows how to throw down. Kodjoe has said it’s true, the way to his heart is food. It’s quite ironic that the two met and began their romance on the show “Soul Food” centered around a family’s Sunday dinners.
No tongue rule
Nicole Ari Parker gets it. Everyone thinks her husband is one of the sexiest men alive. And she is equally stunning. Together they’re fuego! The couple’s work requires intimate scenes that may include kissing, touching and other moments that are typically reserved for their bedroom. So does that ever breed jealousy? For Kodjoe it does, but only during the really intimate scenes. “The moments that make me more jealous than even the love scenes, are the intimate scenes. Like a laugh, or a truly tender moment that is usually reserved for me,” he said. As far as kissing goes they have established their own policy. “First of all, we both know it's make believe. But we do have certain rules. The "no tongue" rule, for instance.”
No cursing in front of the kids
If it just so happens that Boris makes Nicole angry in front of the kids, she will make her point firmly with pursed lips: like this. Hey, it happens. For the most part they save the cursing for the “only in the car, with the windows rolled up, in the garage,” joked Parker. She remembers what it felt like having parents cursing each other out in front of her. If she does make the mistake of getting too angry in front of the kids, she says she will include them in the conversation by explaining to them she’s making a serious point to “daddy” and then apologize.
