Bratislava will host
presidents from central, eastern and southeastern Europe who are set to come to
Slovakia
to attend the 18th Central-European Summit between June 12 and 13, the TASR
newswire wrote.
"This is one of the few platforms at which EU-member
states can meet non-member states and engage in a debate on current
topics," added head of the President's Office Ján Soth. Hosted by
President Ivan Gašparovič, the presidents will discuss issues pertaining to
strategies aimed at the reconstruction of countries after the crisis by means
of economic growth.
"The heads of states will be discussing key political,
economic, social and security issues associated with the post-crisis
developments in our region and the whole continent," said Gašparovič's
spokesperson Marek Trubač. The first day of the summit will also feature
President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy.
Trubač informed the SITA newswire that the organisation of
the summit will cost several thousand euros. Presidents of Austria, Romania,
Montenegro, Estonia, Macedonia,
Latvia, Croatia, Ukraine,
Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria,
Moldova, Hungary, Serbia,

Republic and the chair of the
