The John F. Kennedy
Presidential Library and Museum will offer several family-oriented activities
and programs throughout Presidents’ Day week, including its signature
Presidents’ Day Family Festival featuring presidential storytelling, activities
and performances.
$2 Off Museum Admission with
Special Buzzword
In celebration of Presidents’ Day week, visit
the JFK Library on Facebook or Twitter from February 15-23, 2014, to find out
our special Presidents’ Day buzzword. Tell our front desk the buzzword and
receive $2 off admission prices. Family-friendly Highlights Tours will be
offered throughout the week with paid museum admission.
Presidents’ Day Family
Festival – Monday, February 17, 2014
On Monday February 17 from
10:30am-4:00pm, the Kennedy Library will host its fourth annual Family Festival
featuring presidential storytelling, creative activities, museum tours and
demonstrations, and live musical performances to bring the Library to life in
new ways for all ages.
Children can create Lincoln top hats and
presidential portrait collages, and try out other crafts, games, and hands-on
activities. Featured presidents will include John Adams and Thomas Jefferson,
who will share stories about their lives and times, and speak with each other.
First Lady Abigail Adams will invite families to take part in a hands-on
program on daily life and family fun including the opportunity for children to
try on eighteenth-century clothing. First Lady Dolley Madison will present an
etiquette activity showcasing special occasions at the White House and will
tell stories about life during the War of 1812. Additionally, Dr. Debbie
Douglas from MIT will present on NASA rocket models created during various
presidential administrations. The festival will close with a special free
performance by the Harvard Din and Tonics, who will sing their versions of
Kennedy campaign songs and pop songs from yesterday and today. Special festival
activities are free with paid admission and children age 17 and under are
admitted free of charge on Festival day.

Ice Cream Sundae Bar –
Monday, February 17 and Wednesday , February 19, 2014 On Monday (2/17) and
Wednesday (2/19), from 11:00am-2:00pm, the Café at the JFK Library will offer a
Make-Your-Own Sundae Bar in the Museum’s Pavilion. Kids and adults alike can
enjoy chocolate and vanilla ice cream with hot fudge, butterscotch sauce,
whipped cream and a variety of toppings for $4.00 each. The café will also be
serving family-friendly fare throughout Presidents’ week.

Celebrate! Presents Len
Cabral – Stories of Color from Around the World
On Wednesday (2/19), from
10:30am-11:30am, internationally known storyteller Len Cabral celebrates the
heritage of people of color in this captivating presentation of folktales and poetry

The Museum Store at the JFK
Library is celebrating Presidents’ Day week by offering a special free giveaway
with purchase from February 15-23, 2014. Learn about past presidents with our
selection of books, games, and DVDs exploring the lives and legacies of our
nation's leaders. The store offers a wonderful assortment of presidential gifts
and a variety of items developed for our 50th Anniversary celebration of the
presidency of John F. Kennedy.
