Senate or Mayor in New York?

It looks like Chelsea Clinton
may have gotten bitten by the political bug after she recently hinted that she
might go into the family business.
In a recent interview, the
34-year-old Stanford University alum said that she would be open to
running for a multitude of offices, from mayor of New York to the U.S. Senate. This is a far
different tone than the former first daughter exhibited just a few years ago,
when she declared that she was not interested in pursuing a career in politics.
"I live in a city and a
state and a country where I support my elected representatives," Clinton told Fast Company
magazine. "If at some point that weren't the case, and I didn't support my
mayor or my city councilwoman or my congresswoman or either of my senators --
and I'm lucky to live in a state where I have lots of women representing me,
you know -- maybe then I'd have to ask and answer the question for myself, and
come to a different answer."
This is not the first time
that Clinton
has expressed some interested in becoming an elected official like her parents,
former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in
the last few years.
Las August, she told CNN,
"I'm grateful to live in a city and a state and a country where I really
believe in my elected officials, and their ethos and their competencies.
Someday, if either of those weren't true, and I thought I could make more of a
difference in the public sector, or if I didn't like how my city or state or
country were being run, I'd have to ask and answer that question."
