Univision announced Jessica Maldonado’s exit from “El Gordo y La Flaca” last week, “We are able to confirm that Jessica Maldonado is no longer part of ‘El Gordo y La Flaca,’” said the network’s spokesperson in a press communicate, no further details were revealed.
However, several media professionals have expressed their opinion about the situation and they all believe that Maldonado’s image may have influenced executives to make this decision.
If you have been watching the show, then you are probably aware of the new faces involved with the production. Starting with Danilo Carrera, who joined the show as a social media specialist but his good looks and charismatic personality have propelled his participation in the show. There’s also Alejandra Espinoza, NBL first winner, who has taken over Lili Estefan’s position while she is away on vacation.
