The American soprano, Erin Morley, earned her master of music degree from the Juilliard School of Music in New York, and her bachelor of music degree from the Eastman School of Music. She completed her Artist Diploma at the Juilliard Opera Center (studying voice with Edith Bers) in May 2007, a recipient of the Florence & Paul DeRosa Prize. She won first prize at the Jessie Kneisel Lieder Competition in 2002, and first prize at the Licia Albanese-Puccini Competition in 2006.

At Juilliard, Erin Morley has sung the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, and Tytania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Other roles at Juilliard include Adele in Die Fledermaus, the Fire and Nightingale in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, and Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. She was selected as one of six young singers to participate in Juilliard’s Vocal Honors Recital in 2005, and performed George Frideric Handel in the 2006 all-baroque Jerome L. Greene concert. In April 2007, she sang Sandrina in La finta giardiniera with the Juilliard Opera Center. She made her debut with New York City Opera in 2006 as Giannetta in L’Elisir d’amore. She performed as Sophie in the Trio and Finale from Der Rosenkavalier in a Gala Benefit Concert of Fall 2006. Also an alumna of Wolf Trap Opera Company, she debuted the role of Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos there in 2008. She sang Laoula in Chabrier’s L’Étoile, and Frasquita with Wolf Trap as well. Recent engagements include Laoula in Chabrier’s L´Étoile and Papagena in The Magic Flute with Wolf Trap Opera Company, and Phoebי in Castor et Pollux with L’Opéra Français de New York.

Erin Morley is a member of the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program since 2007-2008 season. She is one of today's most promising coloratura sopranos. Most recently, her Marguerite de Valois in Les Huguenots at the Bard Festival was described by the New York Times as a “formidable performance”. Erin Morley’s roles at the Metropolitan Opera have included the 2nd Niece in Peter Grimes, Masha in The Queen of Spades, and Frasquita in Carmen in the company’s 125th Anniversary Gala. In their 2009-2010 season she sings Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos, the Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel, and the Daughter in The Nose.

Performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall, Erin Morley has been featured soloist with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Utah Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, and Mormon Tabernacle Choir and has also appeared in concert in Shanghai. She was soprano soloist for a moving performance of Mozart’s Requiem taking place at Carnegie Hall on the fifth anniversary of 9/11, in which the community was invited to also sing as choristers. Notable concert engagements in 2009-2010 season include the soprano solos in Felix Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Bernard Haitink and a Gala Concert with The Collegiate Chorale at Carnegie Hall.

ERIN MORLEY

Soprano singer ERIN MORLEY studied at the Juilliard School in New York and at the Eastman School of Music; she graduated at the Juilliard Opera Center in 2007. She has won several competitions and holds numerous awards. Among her performed roles are for example Woglinde in Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung, Waldvogel in Siegfried, Roxana in Król Roger, Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites, Gilda in Rigoletto, Sandrina in La finta giardiniera, Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos and Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier. She has appeared at opera houses such as the New York Metropolitan Opera, the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Opéra de Lille, the Opéra de Dijon, the Santa Fe Opera. She is also a successful concert singer and appears internationally, for example she performed in Beethoven´s Neunter Symphonie, Orff´s Carmina Burana or Brahm´s Deutsches Requiem. With the Cleveland Orchestra under the direction of Franz Welser-Möst she also appeared in the Carnegie Hall, with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Bernhard Haitink or the with New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
