One of the best tenors of our time, the Peruvian opera singer Juan Diego Florez confirmed to arrive in Krasnoyarsk. He will give a concert in memory of his friend, with whom he repeatedly shared the stages of the best leading opera houses. His solo programme, however, will only be a part of a larger ten-day festival named in honour of Dmitri Hvorostovsky.

On October 16, the birthday of Dmitri Hvorostovsky, the first international festival organised in honor of the world-famous opera singer will be opened in Krasnoyarsk.

The founders of the festival are: Dmitri Alexandrovich's parents – Alexander Stepanovich and Lyudmila Petrovna Hvorostovsky, the Krasnoyarsk Dmitri Hvorostovsky Arts Development Fund, the event was also supported by the federal Ministry of culture and the Regional government.

On October 16, the festival will open with the performance of the Giuseppe Verdi requiem.

On October 17, Juan Diego Florez of Peru and Austria, one of the best tenors of our time, will perform his solo program in Krasnoyarsk. Among other outstanding participants of the festival are Angela Gheorghiu from Romania, Sergei Leiferkus from Russia and the UK, Stephen Costello from the USA and Mikhail Petrenko from Russia.

On October 26, the festival will close with a concert performed by the world famous soprano Angela Gheorghiu. Sergei Leiferkus will be the special guest of the event. The programme will feature opera pieces from Giuseppe Verdi's «Simon Boccanegra», Giacomo Puccini's «Tosca» and other works that made Dmitry Hvorostovsky famous.

The main events of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Festival will take place at the Krasnoyarsk Hvorostovsky State Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic. Both venues are connected with Hvorostovsky biography as a singer in a special way. There he performed for the very first and the very last time
