Depressed & anxious adults who are self-critical and self-shaming and couples who bicker and get entangled easily are the populations I serve. Childhood roots of these patterns are explored, while clients learn to replace criticism and shame with kindness. Clients learn to "sit still" with emotions, rather than avoiding uncomfortable feelings through compulsive, "busy", or destructive behaviors. This process assists clients in reducing depression and anxiety, while increasing self-confidence, assertiveness, creativity, and tolerance for intimacy. Couples learn to communicate feelings and needs without using attacking words, and learn how to dis-entangle from eachother after "buttons" have been pushed.

I am an active participant in the therapy process. I also provide an open and safe space for exploring deeper feelings, with an emphasis on emotional attunement. Feelings and behaviors are understood within an insight-oriented context, using contemporary psychoanalysis and neuroscience as models for understanding the human mind.

In addition to being a Clinical Psychologist, I have an MA in Theology, contributing to a real sensitivity to the spiritual issues that individuals of any religion may bring into the therapy setting. This interest includes working with clients who have been injured through their experiences within organized religion.

Leanne Watt, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist in Pasadena, CA practicing for more than 20 years (License #PSY13321). In 1991, Dr. Watt received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary's School of Psychology, an APA-accredited doctoral program. Dr. Watt also completed her APA-Approved, pre-doctoral internship at the University of Southern California, where she provided outpatient psychotherapy to USC’s undergraduate and graduate student population, in 1991.

In 1992, Dr. Watt completed her first post-doctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, an APA-approved site. Here she provided psychotherapy treatment and neuropsychological testing to an outpatient psychiatric population. During her fellowship at Harbor-UCLA, Dr. Watt also served as an assistant professor to pre-doctoral interns and psychology clerks at UCLA Medical Center’s HIV Outpatient Clinic, supervising outpatient psychotherapy cases.

During her UCLA clinical post-doc, Dr. Watt was awarded a research grant in psychoneuroimmunology from UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Institute (NPI), based upon her previous doctoral dissertation research exploring the relationship between anger expressivity and immune function in HIV+ patients. Her dissertation study found that subjects who were more expressive of their anger had enhanced immune functioning and were long-term HIV survivors.

Between 1992 and 1994, Dr. Watt completed an NIH (National Institute of Health) post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology research at Keck School of Medicine of USC’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Dr. Watt’s research, investigating the association between estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) and cognitive skills in patients with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), found that ERT provided a buffer against certain memory and neuropsychological defects associated with AD.

Throughout Dr. Watt’s years in training, as well as in private practice as a Pasadena psychologist, she has stayed active in the psychoanalytic community, attending conferences and participating in her own analysis, out of a desire to provide her psychotherapy patients with the most conscious level of care. She has paid particular attention to the increasing intersection between neuroscience research findings and the practice of psychotherapy, as the empirical evidence continues to unfold illustrating the neurobiologic benefits of good psychotherapy. She also draws upon her research background in psychoneuroimmunology, with a special appreciation for how psychological states and traits impact the health and functioning of the physical body. (See Approach to Treatment for more details on these subjects.)

Complicated people who have “given up” on finding effective psychotherapy find emotional relief in my office. I am a clinical psychologist in Pasadena and have been in private practice for more than 20 years, providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples & families presenting with a broad range of difficulties. As a Pasadena therapist, I specialize in treating patients who have been successful in many areas of life, but they’re still feeling incomplete, often struggling with deeply entrenched interpersonal and behavioral patterns. You may recognize yourself in one of these profiles:

You’re depressed, bothered by self-critical & self-shaming thoughts that eat away at your self-esteem.

You’re anxious all the time or especially in social situations, unable to relax and feel safe in this world.

You’re a couple that gets entangled easily-- you bicker often, you’re feeling injured, misunderstood, enraged, or totally shut down.

You’re a super-achiever— skilled at many things, yet feeling unfulfilled, alone, and sometimes, overwhelmed.

You’re compulsively using the internet or other screen devices; you’re avoiding life and unable to stop yourself.

You’re having a hard time finding your voice, afraid to speak your mind for fear of upsetting others.

You’re a parent, ashamed of the way you respond to your children, or you’re unable to set firm and kind limits.

You’re having work issues, feeling unmotivated & inefficient or you work too much & have difficulty saying “no” to the job.

You’re stuck creatively, unable to find your inspiration or afraid to trust your own instincts.

You’re sober & working the steps, but still struggling with feelings of restlessness, self-hate, shame & remorse.

Your fertility or your physical health is on your mind--- you’re feeling stressed and your body is letting you down.

You are searching for spiritual meaning in life, or you’re trying to leave a religion that feels damaging.

Or maybe you’re just feeling empty and are looking for something or someone to fill you up.

In treatment, the childhood roots of self-destructive thoughts & behaviors are explored, & patients learn to replace criticism & shame with kindness. Clients develop the ability to sit still with their emotions, rather than avoiding uncomfortable feelings through compulsive, "busy", or destructive behaviors. Through this process, depression & anxiety are reduced, while patients experience an increase in self-confidence, assertiveness, creativity, & tolerance for intimacy. The most frustrated couples learn to identify feelings & needs & communicate them without using attacking words; when “buttons” are pushed, they learn how to disentangle from each other and reconnect. And as your emotional connection to yourself & others improves, a sense of contentedness replaces your feelings of emptiness.

The latest medical research in the neuroscience and mind-body literature are incorporated into my clinical formulations, to ensure a proper understanding of my patients’ struggles. In addition to my doctorate, I also have a master’s degree in theology with a sensitivity to the spiritual issues that some patients bring into therapy. Muči vas anksioznost, depresija, tjeskoba...?

http://novastrana.com/Article/Anksioznost-i-depresija.aspx

Nevjerojatno bizarni uzroci anksioznosti i depresije:

Stres možete brzo i efikasno umanjiti pomoću meditacijske glazbe koja duboko opušta, čini vas psihički jačima i stvara osjećaj psihičkog olakšanja.

Bit ćete dobro raspoloženi, samosvjesni i bez straha

Svjesno i racionalno ćete sagledati problem i naći rješenje.
