The up-and-coming Aus­trian bari­tone Gün­ter Haumer has sung under the baton of Fabio Luisi, Gustavo Dudamel, Jesús Lopez-Cobos, Ivor Bolton, Syl­vain Cam­brel­ing among others at venues such as the Musikverein and Konzerthaus (Vienna), the Salzburg Fes­ti­val, the Cité de la Musique (Paris), The Dresden Philharmonic, the Audi­to­rio Nacional Madrid and the War­saw Phil­har­monic.

He has per­formed the title role in Don Gio­vanni, The Count Alma­viva in The Mar­riage of Figaro, Giorgio Germont in La Traviata, Ping in Turandot, Danilo in The Merry Widow, Demetrius in A Midsummernight´s Dream, Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas, Malat­esta in Don Pasquale, as well as Dr. Falke in Die Fle­d­er­maus in Europe and South Amer­ica. He is most well-known for his per­for­mances of con­tem­po­rary repertoire. Günter has worked with stage directors such as Rolando Villazón, Deborah Warner, Otto Schenk, Christiane Lutz and Christoph Schlingensief. The baritone has been a mem­ber of the Ensem­ble of the Volk­soper in Vienna since 2012.

As a Lieder singer, Günter is recog­nised as one of the best per­form­ers of the genre, often accompanied by Roger Vig­noles, Julius Drake and James Baillieu. He counts with       sev­eral CD and DVD recordings and is often broadcasted on TV and radio. Latest worldwide show was “Christmas in Vienna” in more than 40 countries.

In addi­tion to his busy per­form­ing sched­ule, Gün­ter Haumer also teaches singing at the Univer­sity of Music and Per­form­ing Arts in Vienna.
