Over the next night or two one of the world's most powerful people will be based in one of Wales' most exclusive hotel rooms. Take a look inside

The presidential suite features a baby grand piano, a lounge, a dining room and a study within its 1,400 sq ft of floor space making it the last word in Welsh luxury accommodation.

So much so that its hefty price tag sees it occupied for only 110 days a year on average.

The suite also includes a master bedroom and a guest bedroom, both with king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms.

Most of the celebrities who have enjoyed the suite, including Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams, have been performing at the Millennium Stadium during their stay.

The likes of golfer Colin Montgomerie, Welsh rugby legend Gareth Edwards and singer Tom Jones have also opted to use what is thought to be Wales’ most expensive hotel room when staying at the five star Celtic Manor.

Mr Obama took off from Estonia this afternoon and has now begun his historic visit to Wales

President Barack Obama has arrived in Wales for the Nato Summit.

Presidential plane Air Force One landed at an RAF air base and Mr Obama later flew into Wales by helicopter for the two-day conference.

The huge official Boeing 747 jet used to carry the leader of the free world around the globe took off from Estonia this afternoon and landed at RAF Fairford shortly before 7pm.

Mr Obama and his diplomatic entourage and security personnel then continued on to Wales, with the president's helicopter touching down at the Celtic Manor Resort at about 7.30pm.

He is understood to be spending the night at the resort before the summit officially begins on Thursday.

It is understood a welcome video featuring messages from stars such as Matthew Rhys and Katherine Jenkins was shown to the President before his arrival in Wales.

Mr Obama is expected to move around by military helicopter while he is in the UK.

His arrival has been preceded by the biggest security operation Wales has ever seen, with military helicopters a frequent site above South Wales, huge warships stationed in Cardiff Bay and 12 miles of steel fencing in Cardiff, Newport and between the two.
