'It's unfortunate that the media report on false information based on pirated websites. It's in very bad taste and unprofessional. They play with the lives and careers of anybody without thinking of the consequences'

It is truly unfortunate that reporters don't check their sources and run with a story without verifying it it's factual or a hoax

Angelique Boyer, star of "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó," has fallen victim of a death hoax. Over the weekend, it was falsely reported that the 26-year-old actress had died in a car accident. The report came from a website disguised as Reforma wrote that Boyer lost her life in Mexico City when a pick-up truck impacted the vehicle that she and her boyfriend Sebastián Rulli were traveling in. The hoax stayed that Angelique was rushed to the hospital where she died, while Rulli was stabilized and survived the incident. Fans of the couple started retweeting and sharing the news on social media which spread like wild fire. Soon enough it became a trending topic with people questioning the report and asking known entertainment reporters to verify if the news was true.

Hours later it was Boyer herseld that address the reports on Twitter writing: "Thank God we are fine. I send you kisses, I love you all." With this tweet the rumor mill was put to an end and we knew that Angelique and Sebastián were well and living happily together. Rulli on his part criticized some media outlets that run with false reports. "It's unfortunate that the media report on false information based on pirated websites. It's in very bad taste and unprofessional. They play with the lives and careers of anybody without thinking of the consequences." It is truly unfortunate that reporters don't check their sources and run with a story without verifying it it's factual or a hoax. We have seen many death hoaxes in the past, with alleged reputable media confirming the news, which later they have to retract as it turns out to be false.
