Prince William has apologised to crowds in Malta after he was mobbed during a two-day tour of the island as he stands in for The Duchess.
The Duke of Cambridge, 32, is representing the Queen at official celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the country's independence from Great Britain after his pregnant wife was forced to pull out due to severe morning sickness.
He arrived on the Mediterranean island this afternoon where he met with the president, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, at her official residence, the San Anton Palace.
